IL Core B: Legal Issues: Fair Housing

3 hours of Mandatory Illinois Continuing Education

The principles of Fair Housing within your real estate business are crucial to running a fair and honest business.  The fair treatment of all who are involved in a real estate transaction is established by Federal Fair Housing Laws and the Illinois Human Rights Act.  As part of your real estate continuing education, this course will discuss the protections provided by the Fair Housing Act, other Federal laws pertaining to the fair and equal treatment of protected classes and by Illinois state laws governing Fair Housing and Human Rights.

The state of IL requires that you take a proctored final exam. Click here for proctoring instructions.

This course is offered through The CEShop, Inc., but all other bonus materials are offered exclusively by Ilinois Real Estate School Online.

Per Illinois guidelines, you will be allowed to attempt the proctored final exam on each of your courses twice (70% passing rate). If you fail the first attempt, you will be able to take a second attempt within 30 days of your first failed attempt. If you fail the second and final attempt, you will need to start your course over from the beginning.  You may designate your own exam proctor.  Click here for instructions.

Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Licensees are encouraged to retain copies of their Certificates of Completion in the event that they are audited by the state. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal.

Real estate course completions are recorded with the Illinois Division of Real Estate each business day. It may take 2-4 business days from the time we report your hours before the Commission updates your license and/or updates their website with the hours.
